I realized from a very young age that words are what you make them. We give them power. And as I’ve gotten older, I’ve watched others use words as weapons—or at least try. In my case, I laugh. No one could ever knock me from my center point because I’ve spent many days, weeks, years finding myself, discovering my essence. I know who I am. I desire success. I know what I want for my life. And as you continue to bombard me, or anyone else, with words of discouragement and hate, I’m going to continue to climb to the top. In the moment, you’re giving yourself instant gratification, but in the long run, you’re going to be left behind. A not-quite-grown-up grown up. The best advice I can give someone is: believe in yourself and do what makes you happy. Never ever deny your own thoughts or instincts.
